Some beta users have started to receive this new feature, which at the moment seems rather green given that the sample of users chosen is small.

WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will make it easier for users to find specific messages by date in its Android version. As expected, this feature was discovered by WABetaInfo in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (v2.23.24.16), which is already available on Google Play.
The ‘Search Messages by Date’ feature aims to simplify the task of finding specific messages in a conversation by allowing users to filter messages based on the date. In the search interface, a new calendar icon will be added to the top bar, which can be accessed by tapping it. This will display a calendar that allows users to select the desired date to filter messages.
A necessary filter, especially when dealing with a large message list
The feature is already available in the stable version of WhatsApp for iOS and has recently been introduced for certain testers using the beta version of WhatsApp Web. In the iOS version, users can access the feature by going to a chat thread, tapping the chat header, and selecting the ‘Search’ option. The calendar icon will be available in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Although the feature allows searching by date in individual and group chats on iOS, it has the limitation of not allowing the selection of a range of days when filtering messages in a WhatsApp conversation.
