WhatsApp, the world’s leading instant messaging platform, continues to expand its set of features.
After making it easier to switch devices and use multiple devices simultaneously, the company now seems to be focused on enhancing security and privacy, including the ability to hide blocked conversations.
Hide Locked Chat Threads from Unauthorized Users
According to a recent report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to keep locked chat threads secret.
This novelty is particularly valuable as it ensures that unauthorized individuals cannot access this information, thereby strengthening communication privacy. The ability to lock conversations was introduced a couple of years ago, and users have the option to encrypt the entire application on both Android and iOS.
WhatsApp competes with iMessage, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Signal, and Telegram, offering a set of features that surpasses most, except for Telegram. In terms of security and privacy, WhatsApp implements robust end-to-end encryption in all chats, whether individual or group. It also provides users with the option to set an app access password and even lock specific conversations.
Meta, has been incorporating various new features over the past two years. They recently announced the integration of Meta AI into WhatsApp, allowing users to interact with a digital assistant. They also revealed the introduction of AI-powered generative stickers for all their apps, including Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
