Samsung has revealed that TV Plus has grown nearly 60% in the last year. This platform is now available in 24 countries and on 535 million devices, offering over 2,400 channels worldwide. These are significant figures that explain why Samsung continues to strongly support its service; proof of this is the addition of the latest channels in recent days.
In fact, the Koreans have launched version 5.2 with the aim of improving the user experience and providing more intuitive content discovery. In addition, they have added new enhancements to ensure greater stability and fluidity, which was one of the pending issues of the application.
A dedicated section for children and playlists
The update includes a redesigned layout that simplifies content exploration, allowing users to discover their favorite content more easily and quickly. This improvement will initially be available on Samsung smart TVs released in 2019 or later, extending to older TVs, as well as to Galaxy smartphones and tablets in early 2024.
The “Best for Kids” section is a notable addition, offering over 20 family-friendly channels, as well as children’s programs and on-demand movies. Among the content are popular titles such as Baby Einstein, Barney and Friends, and The Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3.
Furthermore, the update introduces a music section with over 200 playlists and more than 40 music channels, including options from Stingray, Vevo, and XITE. The Movie Hub has been expanded, offering new movie channels like Movie Hub Action, Movie Hub Holidays, and Movie Hub West, with thousands of live and on-demand movies.
New channels in the United States and other territories
The update has also expanded the lineup of news channels with leading names such as ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, and others, as well as Christmas content and multicultural and multilingual channels, including ten new Spanish channels.
Salek Brodsky, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Samsung TV Plus, commented:
With phenomenal year-over-year growth and a constantly expanding premium lineup of family-friendly shows, music playlists, news, sports programming, and more, Samsung TV Plus has a clear foothold in the FAST landscape.
The new update aims to offer a more comprehensive user experience and enable seamless discovery of the hundreds of channels and thousands of movies and TV shows available on Samsung TV Plus.
