This week, Samsung held its regular investor conference for the third quarter of the year, during which they announced that Artificial Intelligence will power their upcoming smartphones in the short term.
After a successful conference in which the Korean giant showcased the results that continue to maintain its dominance in the smartphone market, the company with three stars informed its investors that the next step to strengthen its position in the telecommunications market is to introduce highly potent generative AI to the Galaxy devices, capable of functioning even without a mobile network connection.
With Generative AI on the phone, we’ll witness the next generation of even smarter and more functional smartphones.
This would be similar to ChatGPT, as by providing a set of commands, we’ll be able to manage our Galaxy with its assistance. This is expected to happen in 2024, specifically in the upcoming Galaxy S24 series, which is just around the corner.
It will be a proprietary Generative AI developed by the Koreans, which they have been working on for some time and now consider mature enough to launch it in their flagship device for the next year, where it will compete with the iPhone 16 and Xiaomi 14, among others.
Samsung aims to combine the best of ChatGPT and Google Bard to create an ultra-smart and user-friendly phone, although there are no specific details available regarding the Korean proposal at this time.
In an increasingly stagnant and competitive market, differentiation is vital, and Samsung has chosen to do so through the avenue of AI.
